Kentucky’s candidates for U.S. Senate travel across the state, making their final pitches to voters.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell — who’s seeking a sixth term — says he’s confident that Tuesday’s midterm election will be a big day for Republicans.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) REPUBLICAN INCUMBENT, SENATOR MITCH MCCONNELL, SAYING:

“Victory is in the air and we’re going to bring it home tomorrow night!”

His wife, Elaine Chao, says she’s proud to be married to the next majority leader of the U.S. Senate.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) SENATOR MITCH MCCONNELL’S WIFE, ELAINE CHAO, SAYING:

“Kentucky needs someone willing to stand up to Obama and fight for our Kentucky values and our jobs.”

But democratic challenger, Alison Lundergan Grimes, says it’s time for McConnell to go.

“He doesn’t have a plan for the future. He doesn’t have a vision that’s for me or for you,
